Renegade Model Tour

Your first model casting is easier to approach when your bag is packed and the instructions are clear. You do not need to arrive with your entire closet. Bring the materials requested, choose clothing that helps the team see you clearly and leave yourself enough time to settle in.

Read the casting instructions first

The organizer’s directions come before any general checklist. Confirm the location, arrival time, age requirements, wardrobe and materials. Some castings request a particular outfit, a runway walk or a specific type of photo. Others use digital applications before an in-person appointment.

Save the instructions on your phone and make a note of the contact person. Check your route and parking before leaving. If you are attending with a parent or guardian, confirm the organizer’s arrangements in advance.

Bring current photos and accurate information

Have your current photos ready in the requested format. If you use a comp card, check that the contact details and measurements are accurate. Keep digital copies accessible so you can share them without searching through a crowded camera roll.

You may also be asked for your height, clothing size, shoe size and availability. Prepare that information beforehand. If you are new and do not yet have professional images, follow the casting’s photo instructions rather than inventing credits or presenting heavily edited pictures.

Choose simple wardrobe and practical shoes

Wear the outfit requested by the casting team. When no wardrobe is specified, simple clothing without distracting patterns is a useful starting point. Bring any requested footwear, along with comfortable shoes for travel and waiting.

Test your shoes before the day. You should be able to walk, stop and turn comfortably. Keep a small bag with water, a hairbrush and any essentials you need for a quick refresh. Avoid bringing so much that handling your belongings becomes a distraction.

Prepare a short introduction

Practice saying your name and giving a brief, natural introduction. Listen to the directions, take a breath and begin when asked. If a request is unclear, ask the casting team to explain it. A calm question is better than guessing.

You do not have to perform an exaggerated version of confidence. Be attentive, courteous and ready to try again if the team gives you a correction. Castings are also opportunities to learn how different teams work.

Practice before your first appointment

The Renegade Model Tour includes runway coaching, comp card review, portfolio assistance and a casting video among the experiences listed on its tour page. Those are useful areas to develop as you prepare to introduce yourself to the industry.
